Privacy Policy

The short version

The values you type into the calculator never leave your device. The conversion runs as JavaScript in your browser, so there is no request to send, nothing to log and nothing to store. There is no account system, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Calculator inputs

All conversion is performed client-side. Numbers you enter are held in your browser's memory for as long as the page is open and are discarded when you close or reload it. They are not transmitted to us or to any third party, and they are not written to storage or cookies.

What is stored on your device

One item only: if you choose a light or dark theme, that preference is saved in your browser's local storage under the key mtg-theme so the site remembers it on your next visit. It contains nothing but the word “light” or “dark”, it is never sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Server logs

Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested — the URL, timestamp, referring page, IP address and browser user-agent string. This is used to serve the site, diagnose faults and detect abuse. It never includes anything you typed into the calculator, because those values are never sent.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful — page views, referring pages, approximate country-level location derived from your IP address, and broad device and browser type. Aggregate reporting is the only purpose.

No analytics tool receives the contents of the calculator. The values you type are held in the page's memory and are never written into the address bar, so there is nothing about them in any URL the analytics tag reports.

Advertising features are switched off at the tag itself: advertising storage, ad personalisation and ad user data are all set to “denied”, and Google Signals is disabled. Your visit is not used to build an advertising profile or a remarketing audience.

Cookies

The site sets no advertising or remarketing cookies. Google Analytics sets first-party analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by the property ID) holding a randomly generated number that lets a returning visit be recognised without identifying you. They contain nothing you typed.

Blocking them — in your browser settings or with any content blocker that filters analytics — leaves every calculator on this site fully functional, because the conversion logic does not depend on them. The theme preference described above uses local storage rather than a cookie.

Third parties

Fonts are the ones already installed on your device and illustrations are inline vector graphics, so rendering a page pulls nothing from another server.

The single external file the site loads is Google's analytics library (gtag.js) from googletagmanager.com, described under Analytics above. Requesting it discloses your IP address and browser user-agent to Google, as a request to any server does. There is no third-party advertising, no social media embeds, and no comment or chat widget.

Children

The site is a general-purpose reference tool suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data through the calculator, there is generally no personal data of yours for us to access, correct or erase. If you believe we hold information about you and wish to exercise a right under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA or a similar law, contact us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes to how data is handled will be noted clearly rather than made quietly.
